FAQ

Good to know.

Who can join?

bayn is invite-only. You join with an invitation code from a member, or by applying to the waiting list — we review every application personally. Everyone agrees to our community commitments.

What does a referral mean?

A referral is how someone joins — one member vouches for you and that connection is recorded. It is a starting point, not a guarantee: it makes an introduction easier, but you still decide who to trust and what to agree to.

When does the 14-day trial begin?

Your trial starts the day you publish your first home or search. During those 14 days you can message members and arrange a swap. After that, publishing and messaging need a membership; browsing, swiping and saving stay free.

Does bayn handle housing payments?

No. bayn facilitates introductions, not bookings or payments. Rent, bills and deposits are agreed and paid directly between members. Membership fees are the only thing bayn charges for.

Is a swap match binding?

No. A mutual like opens a conversation — nothing more. You both discuss the details and decide together whether to go ahead. Either side can step back at any point before agreeing.

What happens when someone reports a problem?

Reports stay private and go to the team. We look at what happened — a referral, membership or friendship with the team protects no one — and, where appropriate, the person can respond. Serious issues can lead to a warning, a removed listing, account limits or removal. See our commitments.

How does membership renew, and can I cancel?

Plans renew automatically at the end of each period. You can cancel anytime from your account; access continues until the period you paid for ends, and we give notice before any price change.
