Members ask each other for things through Looking for, and offer things they no longer need. These rules apply whenever something changes hands between members on bayn. They sit on top of the membership terms.
This is members passing things on to each other now and again: selling something used, giving it away, swapping it, or handing on a ticket you cannot use. You can offer the thing, and you can ask for one.
It is not a shop, and bayn is not a selling platform. Trading commercially here — stock, resale at volume, anything you do as a business — is not allowed, and will not be until bayn deliberately builds for it, which would mean a different set of rules than these.
The member who posts the thing is the seller. bayn does not own it, has not seen it, and does not guarantee it. We are not a party to the sale, and no consumer right you would have against a shop applies to bayn here.
Payment and handover are between the two of you. bayn does not process these payments and offers no buyer or seller protection.
Whatever you offer, say:
Do not describe something as better than it is. That is the whole of it.
We may add to this list, and will say so when we do.
Only pass on a ticket where resale or transfer is lawful where you are and allowed by the ticket’s own terms. Say what the event is, the date, the type of ticket, what it cost you, what you are asking, and any restriction on transferring it.
Never offer a ticket you do not hold or have no right to transfer. We may remove ticket listings where local law or an event’s rules make them uncertain.
Anything you owe on what you sell is yours to pay. bayn does not withhold or report tax for you today.
The European and UK rules on digital platforms can require a platform to collect and report seller information where it facilitates sales and knows what was paid. bayn currently knows neither, because the money never passes through us. If that changes, or if the rules reach us as we are, we may have to ask you for tax identification details — and we will explain why before we do.
